20 mar ALL OR NOTHING
WORDS: DEJAN VICAI
In life, there are merely two choices you can make: go all out or go home. Whatever you do, wherever you go, whenever you have to make a decision, you can either be bold or you can cower forever. Though, it isn’t always easy lifting your head up and taking a leap of faith. Sometimes, you have to wonder, is it worth it all? No matter what you choose, you should never have to look back with regret, you should be proud of where you’re headed and how it’s shaping your life.
When life gives you lemons, you shouldn’t just make lemonade; you should take all the lemons, plant them, wait for the new lemons to grow, and then, only then, should you make some sweet lemonade. Don’t let life take the best of you because no matter what, you are your own life’s conductor and if you put your mind to it, you can always end up victorious! If you don’t like lemons, even better, bite into that bitter goodness and show everyone around you that you’re not one to be messed with.
The world is full of mysteries and unless you keep an open mind you won’t be able to go on awesome adventures. If you keep pacing in a safe zone you created, you’ll be putting in absolutely nothing to have an amazing life. Fear shouldn’t be an oppressor, it should be your motivator. Just because something is scary doesn’t mean you have to stop trying, quite the opposite, tackle your fears so that you can move on forward and give your all. Really, the only fear factor you should be afraid of is your own limitation and how much it can hinder you.
Sometimes, you have to risk everything and believe that your next step will bring you the glory and fame you were dreaming about. Sometimes, though, it doesn’t work out. That shouldn’t stop you. Every miscalculation is a chance to learn and every mistake is an opportunity to grow. Eventually, you will be able to call all the right shots even without realizing that you are doing it. Getting to that point takes time, and most of all, it takes courage. Nothing is more adamant and feared than courage because it can help you overcome seemingly impossible odds. Unless you’re ready to brave the elements and face the greatest of dragons in the valley, you’re not really ready to go all in.
Doing things halfway and giving up in the process doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re a quitter, it just shows that you’re not ready to go through with something. Your mind should be made up, even if you know it’s going to end bad or if you’re sure it’s not a good idea; sometimes you just have to try it, no matter what. On the other hand, being aware of all the risks makes it worse because then your rational self will never allow making a choice you might not like at the moment. You will never truly live until you’ve made one risky decision and managed to get out unscathed. The point isn’t that you know what awaits you at the end nor is it that you’re sure that you’re making the right choice, the point lies in having the bravery to go through with what you’ve decided with.
You have to stop and take some time to appreciate life around you, it isn’t just happening to you, it isn’t just throwing random punches at you, it is only shaped by you and how you choose to do it. You can’t expect anything good unless you’re willing to put in an effort to make it happen. Nevertheless, you can’t take responsibility for it nor can you really give your all unless you start accepting yourself for what you really are. Life didn’t make you what you are right now, there are a million chances of something going wrong, and even if it does, you need to be ready to deal with it. That is what it means to go all in. We come into this world screaming and kicking, and when it’s time to leave, you need to make sure that you’ll leave screaming, kicking, and asking for more.
